liberty rose

Liberty Rose is a mixed media artist based in Brighton with a First Class Honours BA in Fashion Communication with Business Studies. Skilled in design across many mediums, her portfolio explores; fashion collage, animation, illustration, styling, photography, and film. Her work is gracefully implicit, generally provocative, and unapologetically colourful.
Creating illustrations and collage which are then transposed into moving images, she brings characters and concepts to life using Adobe software. Skilled in design software she creates work using Pro Create, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro. Prioritising creativity and experimentation, she has an innovative imagination that excels at designing concepts and solutions. Her dream is to create art that resonates with an audience enough to create positive changes in society - be that big or small.
Identified as a 'rising artist', Liberty exhibited three pieces in the 2021 Graduate Showcase at the S&P Gallery in London. During her studies and time in the industry, she has collaborated on publications, film, and editorial outcomes. Her work is featured in Graduate Fashion Week’s digital portfolios, as well as the creatives database hosted by Neighbourhood magazine.
From the summer of 2021 to spring 2022 she managed a vintage shop, in the infamous Brighton North Laines, called Independent Rag. Headhunted for her skills showcased in this role, particularly in content creation and social media marketing, she became the marketing manager for ‘To Be Worn Again’ - Brighton’s biggest second hand retailer of 25 years. As marketing manager, she managed the social media accounts across their retail stores, online store, wholesale warehouse and kilo sale events. Within this role she designed their new website, email campaigns, print and digital advertisements, and also directed the photography and styling for campaign imagery. While in this role she also directed the online sales, selecting and selling stock across their online platforms.
After selling vintage in shops, at events and online for these brands over the years, this summer she launched her own brand to independently sell vintage and second hand clothing online. Her brand ‘Thrifty Fitty’ currently sells clothing on Vinted and Depop, with Etsy and Ebay stores launching soon. As well as sourcing stock herself through local second hand retailers, (and her own vast collection), she also sells on behalf of individuals for a commission rate. If you are interested in using her reselling services, get in contact below.
Outside of her work with vintage clothing brands, she also supports slow fashion and small businesses in her design work. As a digital illustrator for Mad About Doin Zine, her illustration was featured in published Issue 4. Her new designs will be featured again in the next print issue (coming soon…) As well as illustrations, she has had styling work published in an editorial on second hand clothing for Reload Magazine Issue 1. As a passionate advocate for sustainable fashion, she has been a guest speaker at local sustainable fashion community events held by ArtWear. Within these events, she also sold clothing to upcycle at a rework workshop in collaboration with Noki x Nest.

Always advancing her skillset, she also studied a Digital Accelerator Course with Creative Process. This encompassed workshops in using Adobe Software, website and logo design, digital portfolio, and presentation. The experience has been resourceful in advancing her graphic design skills, ready to be used in her next role in the creative industry.

Most recently, she played a pivotal role in coordinating Brighton’s first-ever Sustainable Fashion Week, as a head dresser and stylist in a runway show. During the event, she also contributed to content creation, harnessing her creative eye through photography and video, and live interviewing guests, designers and brands.
Open to commissions and collaborations in styling and design, she is currently running her reselling brand while looking for a creative industry role. For inquiries into any of these topics, please get in touch below.
